The first tap is optional, but I need to make it very clear that its for R- Buch. Enthusiast, and I also need to state that-
The +OPTIONAL+ 1st tap's volume difference (drop off) is considerable!!!!
But great news, it's actually a direct - true to life - replica of Roys 1953' Tele® AKA.."Nancy"..and is all new for Feb. 2011 here! (8 years of R&D to get that one dead right)
Next is the 7.8 to 8k, as I found it to be perfect for the hottest tap. This is more ZZtop-ish / Tweed sounding.
These are the changes for 2011, and you have the option of alter the taps via email after placing a pre-paid order.
The new specs will be:
1st tap 5.0k
(Also: Now Optional is secret "2324" spec! Low DCs

2nd tap 6.4k
3rd tap 7.8k
All three taps work on the three-way switch.

(any + % hotter tap is always Optional + it and will need to be made with the thinner wire 43'awg, plain enamel coated, a.k.a. Broadcaster®. in order to get more wire on the bobbin, because 8k with wire 42 is maxxed out, any more wire 42 after 8k makes the coil too big and fat so will not stay on the bobbin, accept with protective cotton string or pressure tape- and still be able to slide through the metal bridge slot of the bridge plate itself.
